my dog does the same. i dont think u should worry. if u tilt their nose downward twords the ground and hold it there for a moment of 2 they will stop. it is caused by a flap of skin that gets loged in their throat. at first i thought my dog was dying but that tip helps alot. it doesnt really hurt them. good luck to u and your doggie

There can be lots of reasons that your dog is wheezing, if this is something new you may want to have it checked. We have a Chihuahua that has asthma and when she gets excited she wheezes, but it is not anything major. If your dog only does this when you come home it may just be overexcitement. Try leaving a radio or tv on while you are gone to see if it helps.

My mom has a Pomeranian that wheezes, he did have something stuck in his throat, but it could be a number of reasons. Yes, the dog can have allergies. If you love your dog like I do mine. I would get him checked.

Hi!
My Maltese does the same thing. Does it sound like a backwards sneeze? To make it stop blow in her nose or open her mouth and blow in it. You might just want to take her to the vet just to make sure. It is alos VERY common in dogs with pushed in noses.
Good Luck with her!!!!

If it's "reverse sneezing" it's very common in toy breeds. Although I have a Shepherd mix that does it too. Freaked me out, but the vet finally heard it and identified it.
