My opinion is that a crockpot of vienna sausages is A LOT of vienna sausages and I can't understand how anyone could eat them ALL DAY LONG. The fact that she is making a mess and getting sauce on everything and making people smell them cooking all day, your boss should say something to her. That's just plain ridiculous.

The crockpot thing is definitely NOT NORMAL and your boss needs to do something about it. Having BBQ sauce on paperwork is not very professional. Maybe your boss is afraid of confrontation, try suggesting some ways to address the problem. Ask your boss to send out a memo to everyone limiting the number of appliances you have plugged in at your desk or saying all hot smelly food needs to be eaten in the break room. Buy some air freshener to counter act the smell of the weanies and when you feel yourself reaching critical mass take a walk away from your desk and cool off or go discuss your situation with a friend and laugh. Good Luck!

Seriously? It seems strange to bring a crockpot to work unless it is for a company potluck. On the other hand, if crockpots are banned from the office - what next? Coffee makers? Microwave popcorn? Minty fresh chewing gum? It may be time to confront the person - or declare weiner amnesty.

Are you jealous you don't get what's IN the crockpot? It's a real good way to save money, fixing your food for lunch break. A lot of people do it.

Bring in fish every day for lunch. Cook it in the nearest microwave. You don't have to eat it, just pick at it so the smell carries. (Sorry, I guess I'm being evil!)

That's just weird, and not at all normal. If it were a special occassion where people were bringing in food, that's different, but everyday??? LOL no, that's odd.

try asking offering her a stack of napkins at the beginning of the day, maybe she'll take the hint.
