There are almost as many paths within Wicca as there are Wiccans in the world nowadays. Each person's faith tends to be quite personalized. The majority now seem to be Ecclectic Wicca, or at least have some ecclectic tendancies. Ecclectic Wicca combines aspects of the various traditions, as well as Native beliefs, shamanism, Druidism, etc to make a faith that fits you personally. This is a very personal choice for you to make, and you should take your time and get as much information as you can on the various traditions/paths before finally choosing one that's right for you. You can find lots of help at www.witchvox.com. You need to ask yourself whether you want to be a solitary wiccan, or in a coven? Whether you want to be robed during rituals, or skyclad? Whether you want to follow pre-written spells and rituals, or create your own? Which pantheon of gods and goddesses speaks to you? Take your time in making your decision. Each tradition sets up their altar a little differently, so you need to choose your tradition first.

In the end though, do what feels right to you. The Lord and Lady know what we mean, so long as our intentions are good. And always remember the last tennant of the Wiccan Rede, "An if it harms none, do what ye will."

Blessed Be.

HI, as for the tradition you take for Wicca there are thousands of different traditions and many pantheons to choose from. I'm gonna give you some links to some videos that give you an overview of some popular pantheons, there are more but I think these videos are very helpful.

As for your altar, I would include a God and Goddess efigy and something to symbolize the Four Directional Elements.

I have a candle for air, an incence burner for air, a chalice for water and a mortar and pestle for earth. All these things I can also use in my magickal workings.

although being a Celtic practitioner which is older than Wicca but the beliefs are similar all i can tell you is go to your local library and research Wicca . you will find the one that feels right to you.
no one can tell you which is right or not you must find that for yourself. the more you learn about it the better you will be able to judge for yourself. just remember the main rule in wicca is " Do as you will but do no harm" and you will be fine.
Blessed Be!

Well, what kind of person are you?

You cannot find "the right shoe" that is right for every foot.

Same thing with Wicca.

Why am I telling you this, you'll probably end up making a new branch, it's what everybody does nowadays. Oh well. Good luck I guess.

There are many fine authors to get you started. Scott Cunningham, Raymond Buckland, Dianne Sylvan among them. There are many paths to take and you must learn yours. There are numerous web sites to help you. Wicca is not a religion that reaches out. You must seek. You Willl learn when you are ready. It wil fall into place.
Blessed Be.
