I always seem to put on a couple pounds while my son is in the hospital. Once it was 12lbs in 2 weeks. I don't eat more than I normal would. Do I need meds or something. I know I am stressed but is there something out there i could take with out going to the doctor?

hey, I had a look around the Internet cause I have the opposite effect from stress. I found a site that said lack of sleep can increase your weight gain. You might find this article interesting. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=434.

What kind of medication do you think you could get? Pills aren't the solution to everything and certainly aren't the solution to weight loss. Try to eat a little less, walk around a little more. I'm sure it's just the stress that's getting to you and also being less active. But in the end, your son's more important, I hope that he gets better!

The hospital is a big place. I'm sure your son would not mind if you went for a 30 minute walk while you are there.

Eat less than usual to make up for the fact that you're moving less than usual.
