I am a hunter, so I am in favor of taking animals lives for food.
Hunting is legal, and helps to keep the animal population down, which makes it good for the ecology.
Unfortunately, not everyone is into hunting, live in places where they are able to hunt. So these people are required to get their meat from other sources: the market, which gets their meat from people who do not give the animals a fighting chance.
As meat is important for a healthy diet, then that is a requirement for them to get their nutrition.

I am a vegetarian myself.
My opinion on taking animals for food is that, it's actually okay. Yet, the way it is done for mass production, to me, is cruel, because animals are tortured.
However, I do not disagree with eating meat. Because, well.. Animals taste good!! And I understand those that eat it, because if you cannot see what is happening, then.......why really worry about it? And when that tender, juicy steak is in front of you, the animals' pain is hardly the first thing on your mind.
Then why am I a vegetarian? Because, just by chance I happened to come upon the facts of how animals are treated. Then I looked in to it and like many other people, I thought it was terrible how insensitive we can be. While a lot of people know about this, though, they ignore it and eat meat anyway, but I decided that I want to be a person that acts upon their feelings instead of just ignoring it. It was sort of like an "Okay, well I GUESS I have to be a vegetarian now, because I saw what happens, etc, etc"
I don't care at all if people eat meat, and I'm glad they are enjoying their delicious food. =] (I still eat fish, though, because being Asian, I can hardly deny it. As long as I am reducing cruelty...)
Hope this helps.
P.S. I would still eat Kobe beef, which is a very expensive, rare type, because they are treated like royalty (as opposed to tortured) at the farms to produce good quality. (They receive massages and actually are fed wine.) =]

I been vegetarian for a few years and my health got bad, so I switched to fish and chicken, there are only a few times a year where I would eat other meat.
I feel like I should be able to kill the things I eat, that is like respecting the animal that gave its life for my food.
Fish and birds arent as close to me as mammals (animals which in females produce milk for the nourishment of young)
Oh...and I dont like people that go hunting, esp not those that use arrows and call it a sport

I am comfortable believing meat comes from the store in plastic packages. I try not to think about it otherwise.
If I had to kill an animal for meat, I wouldn't unless it meant me dying. Even then it would be a heartbreaking choice.

There is nothing wrong with the killing of animals to use their meat for nutrition. The waste of meat is bad and wrong.
Animals were put on this earth for us to eat just as vegetables were.
There are those who do not eat flesh and that is their privilege and right however they should not condemn those who do.

Well I personally like meat also but I think it is cruel to kill live animals for food...we should discover a different way to get protein other than animals!

I think of the two things as different: meat, and live animals. I don't think of a cow when I eat a burger and I don't think of chicken nuggets when I hold a bird.

I think it is perfectly normal. I mean that is the cycle of life, the more dominate prevail. That is how the world goes for millions of years. I think it is okay for us to eat meat, but I strongly oppose those who do it for sport and leisure. One doesn't need to die to please the other's pleasure. But as far as eating animals for FOOD and FOOD ONLY, it is correct, just no hunting for sport.
