I believe it originally came from that passage in the Bible where Abraham, the original patriarch, couldn't have children with his wife Sarah because she was past menopause. Sarah gave Hagar her servant to Abraham to have a child, which they name Ismael. Later God did give Sarah a child with Abraham and they named him Isaac. Sarah drove Hagar and her child Ismael into the desert, hoping that they would die, but God had compassion on them and promised to make a great nation out of Ismael. Arabs believe that Ismael was their ancestor and they have the rights of the firstborn of Abraham, including all of his ancestral lands.

Well, believe it or not, it is nothing more than a family feud. The land that the Jews have, according to birth right, actually belongs to the Arab's. But God gave the land to the second born. In Chapters 16 and 21 we see the order of Isaac and Ishmael. Ishmael being the father of the Arab nations, was born first. The land belongs to his descendants. God on the other hand gave the land of promise to Isaac and his descendants. This is why there is such hatred over there. Each claims the land as their own.

There is no hate. The Jew and the Arab Cousins have been staying side by since the start of time. Even now there are jews staying peacefully in the Arab countries.
