It's probably because a heterosexual lifestyle is viewed by the majority as the "normal," correct lifestyle. Heterosexuals are not despised for their sexual practices. Heterosexuals aren't attacked or killed for who they love and/or have sex with. Homosexuals face these horrible realities and more. (How some people think this is a choice is beyond me.) They have parades to celebrate pride in who they are because the world surely will not do it for them. If you feel you need your own parade, go for it. It's protected by our Constitution. Frankly, I don't think your self-esteem needs any stroking. By the way, I know some heterosexual households where I would consider the people far from "normal."

Society decides what's normal. Gays are in the minority, and life's kinda hard for them...even if there are shows, and networks, and cities, that embrace them....so they get a parade...big deal. That can teach us all about tolerance. But then, it could work the other way too...I wonder if a gay parent would get pissed if their kid told 'em they were straight? I mean, the gay couple's OWN kid, meaning only one parent adopts the kid, because the other is biologically related to them.

Having parades and marches are methods of force to try to get noticed and to change the laws. Our GREAT country started with God actively involved and the laws were written under His guidance. The NORM was established as He wanted - man and woman to be married to one another.Those who have deviated from God's word feel that they must force their sinful ways upon others and try to make lawmakers to allow them rights that are against GOD and OUR NATION! We hetrosexuals have no need to parade or force others. Sexual deviates have a choice to make just as we did. Homosexuality is a choice just like alcoholism, drug addiction, over eating, or any other thing that is against God. Make the right choice and rejoice! Choose wrong and spend your life trying to make others understand or change to your way and allowing more harshness and unhappiness into your heart. When you open the slightest crack into your heart, Satan jumps in and opens it wide for all the darkness he brings to grow and become insatiable for more deviance and then pushes you to spread his ways through parades, etc. trying to get attention and change the righteous. Pray for those weak folks who haven't figured out life, God, and Satan to welcome God and His strength to fight off these demonic ways.

Because it's widely accepted as "normal" and homosexuals are working to be accepted as "normal" people, not as "freaks" and "weirdos."
