I have always had this question. What is witchcraft? ( please be specific ) How does one gain the ability to use it, and what should one expect if using it? Does it go against Christian beliefs (Does it go against god's will?)

Witchcraft is basically following a religion that is old as time itself. In a nutshell, witchcraft is the belief that everything on Earth has an enrgy/spirit and in celebrating that spirit. Now, all of those energies/spirits are linked to a specific god or goddess. From there, all the gods are one god, and all of the goddesses are one goddess. The God and Goddess are also One. That way, one dieity does not hold more power than another, so everyone is on an equal plane. Now, the word "witchcraft" and the wiccan religion are both very, VERY wide (much like Chrisitanity) due to the fact that there are several different sects (Duridic, Pagan, Celtic, Norse, and so on....). However, they all follow about the same thing, though the names of the energies/spirits and dieities are different. Across the board, these faiths are very nature based. There is no "Devil" in the Craft, because he doesn't exist in our world. In fact, we don't have an equivalient (God of the underworld, Dead, Souls, etc, but not evil).
You don't really 'gain the ability to use" witchcraft, at least in the minds of some. We don't wave wands all day to conjure demons, diamonds, or anything for that kind. Forget Harry Potter, we cannot do anything like that (though I kind of wish we could). The magic witches talk about or what you read in books is not a physical manifestation of goods or services. It is more mental. Ok, this is kind of hard to explain, so please bear with me. Yes, we cast spells for love, luck, fertility, mental awareness, whatever, but it is not like we perform a love spell and the next day, you get a boy/girlfriend. It is kind of like making a wish to yourself, send it out into the world to either get fulfilled or if the Gods see fit for it to come true, it will, but at its own pace. It is one of the things where if you truely beleive in your heart of hearts that the magic you conjur is real, it will come true. Very "If you build it, they will come." See, it is kind of hard/wierd to explain on a computer screen.
Witchcraft doesn't go against our Gods' will, but I guess it would go against the Christian God's will. However, anything that is not apart of any specific religion will go agaist siad religion's belief structure.

I'm sorry I gave you such a mouthful to swallow, but feel free to email me if you have anymore questions.

I do have a question for those who say that the Bible says, "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live.", are you going to come kill me, since I have already proclaimed myself as a witch?

Well, you gotta see the meanings of the words you use.

Witchcraft is the word the Christian used on former religions to make them sound less appealing so people would convert to Christianity. Like, they called Celts 'Witches'.

And God's Teaching is not really God's Words for the most part, I think. He might have said hello to some people who were nice, but the rest of the bible is made up.

So, by definition, yes, the misnomer/made-up religion goes against the set of made-up rules.

But I don't think if you practiced what is defined by modern Witchcraft God would be mad at you. If you don't believe me, do a spell or two and then walk into a church on Sunday. If you're not struck by a thunder, everything's OK.

It definitely goes against Christian teaching and God's will; basically you are, knowingly or unknowing, consorting with demons. It's condemned in the Bible in Deuteronomy 18:10 and Galatians 5:20. Using it, you are not relying on God but on demonic powers (even if you do not intend to).

The bible says "though shall not suffer a witch to live" so I would take that as being against God's will. Plus most so called "witches" are just pagens not spell casting witches.
