Sounds like a nice place to visit. Has anyone been there? I want to see the Prague Castle and take a river cruise. : )

To those who don't practice GLBT acceptance (or at least tolerance), please go hang out on another board. I think I can feel your blood pressure going up.

Promoting tourism there could be as simple as saying to a friend (who's planning a trip), "You should consider the Czech Republic."

"The Czech economy gets a substantial amount of its income from tourism, and there are several centres of tourist activity.
...
Figures from 2001 revealed that the total earnings from tourism reached 118.13 billion CZK, making up 5.5 % of GNP and 9.3% of overall export earnings. The industry employs more than 110,000 persons - over 2% of the population."

czech republic is a beautiful place to visit. I am glad that they have gay marriage. I have wanted to go visit there for a long time. it does not change my oppion at all. I might think harder because i will be a little more free in their way of thinking and i like that.

Hi there I am from CzR though living in the USA. CzR is a beautiful country and the tourism has been there even before that, this country is so amazing that it does not need such a political commercial as gay marriage approval. I am not a gay, I am a Christian-Catholic and I do not agree on this decision, however, even in the Czech Republic the word FREEDOM means a lot, freedom as everybody knows is being explained in many different ways by different people, so the country should not be blamed for somebody's personal and highly subjective decision. The country should be evaluated by its natural beauties, history, architecture, food, nice people, atmosphere....go and visit, feel it, live it...you will get your own opinion about modesty, beauty and simplicity that leads to its own perfection in its own unique way...And yes, Prague is like a fairy-tale land....you have to experience it to understand it.

Oh and if you really plan to go, I can give you some valuable advice, just contact me at my link. Thanks.

i am from Prague, i live here and let me tell you that the discussions about the gay marriage rather set the public opinion more violently gainst gay people - just because there were more debates going on. if you are gay, you neednot be afraid that somebody will abuse you in Prague, it is the capital, like any other busy city, so you are not on a close watch. Yes you will like the sights, the castle, the cruise is a great idea - sure send me email before you come - i mean you MUST come.

i am straight if you ask

I don't promote tourism to any country whatsoever. However, I do feel that the choice made to support gay marriages is very brave and should be looked at in the light that it is now allowing for a more accepting world.

Heck NO!

It might be a beautiful country to visit, but it doesn't have to approve for Gay or do any publicity for it in order to receive some Tourists in return. That's just not right!
