Let's define Earth first. Earth the planet will survive almost anything - meteors, earthquakes, volcanoes etc. It will most assuredly survive. Earth the plants, animals, fish, birds, etc. they will all survive mass extingsions have occurred before. Earth meaning man that is another question. Will man survive? At the present rate of consumsion of natural resources man will run out of Oil in 15 years, Natural gas in 22 years, drinkable water in 10 years. Oops run out of drinkable water in TEN YEARS? YOU SAY? Yes. Due to the current rise in global temperature all of the basic sources for natural drinking water - glaciers - will have melted. Now treated water will be available but it will cost more than 100 times what it does today. Why? Because man is ruining the earth with pollution. Now there are three trains of thought as to how this is going to be dealt with.

1. Man will some how over come his stupidity and turn around just before there is no possible way to solve the problem.

2. The Earth will solve the problem for man and extinguish all of mankind by becoming uninhabitable in a period of massive weather changes in the form of massive storms and then an Ice age.

3. God will intervene. And at that point God will bring to ruin all those ruining the earth.

Outcome? In the first case it is probably to late already. The current trends will take at least 200 years to reverse and mankind will not be able to overnight change his greedy habits.
In the latter two cases the earth will return to a natural state and those surviving will have known the outcome in advance and been prepared for that outcome.
