My son was born on July 4th ,1969 and NO, there was nothing done even though he was the only baby born in the hospital on that day.

My son was born on the 5th. (Darn doctor had picnic plans on the 4th, go figure!)
The great thing was for many years he thought that the fireworks were to celebrate HIS birthday. Gotta love kids!
