I heard a preacher say that the whole Bible was written for our learning but the whole Bible was nor written to me. When I started studying my Bible I found that to be true. 2 Timothy 2: 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. An example of this can be found by comparing scripture with scripture. James 2: 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. James says that you are justified by works and not by faith only. James is writing to the 12 tribes of Israel. James 1: 1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. The apostle Paul is writing to us in the age of grace and he tells us that we are justified by faith alone. Romans 4: 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

The Bible is the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly. Any good Bible scholar know that the compilation of written history we know ans the Bible is full of inconsistencies.

"The Bible was written by God and recorded by man."
I'd always thought it was inspired by God and written by man. This gives the Bible much more authority and places the authorship in the right place. I embrace this assertion wholeheartedly, and first heard it several Sundays ago at my church.
