is it true that you can take car tape adapter, hook it up to your computer, put the tape part in one side of a double deck tape player, and put another tape into the other side of the tape player, and convert tape to cd?????? someone once told me this, and i really want to know..please help!

NO it will NOT work, the tape adapter has a PLAY HEAD in the tape not a RECORD pickup, its designed to send audio INTO a tape deck, not take audio out of a deck. if you want to do that, go to radioshack, get a 1/8inch stereo to dual RCA cable, connect to the outputs of the stereo/tape deck, and put the plug into the mic in or line in on your computer, then run a recording program in windows and play your tapes.

Here's the deal - a car tape adapter takes a signal from SOMETHING ELSE and turns in into tape-recorder signals so that a tape player can play it. it does NOT take tape-player signals and send them to something else, like a computer,

Radio Shack (or circuit city or bestbuy) will sell you a thing that plugs into the headphone jack of the taple player and goes into the computer input - that's what you need to make a CD.

yess eight mm plug is an eight mm plug. the plugs are the same and the output is the same.
