you should wait at least a month before you get a new pet or the animal will think you didn't love it and you need to mourn your hamster

Since you're familiar on how to care for a hamster, getting another one would be a good idea. I used to have hamsters too and they're relatively easy to care for. I recently got a puppy (he's almost 4 months old) and it's very different from caring for a hamster. A LOT more work. So if you want your work cut out for you, get another hamster or a mouse. But if you're ready to put yourself to do some work, get yourself a dog or a cat. It really depends on if you want or if you're ready for a change. Good luck! :)

Did the hamster please you as a pet. If so get another. If you wanted more or less from a pet consider another. Dogs take a lot of care and demand attenion as do ferrits. Germil are also rodents like hamsters but they are more active and less of a hold me cuddly type like a hamster. Take the time to consider what you want a pet to do and weight your choices carefully.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the flippant manner in which you asked the question leads me to question your ability to be a responsible pet owner. Get a goldfish.
