Willpower.
You have want to stop so much that you can make yourself stop nibbling by willpower alone which is possible, it's how smokers manage to stop.
Distraction.
You need something to do with your hands so that you do not have the time to nibble because your hands are occupied.
Sweets etc
Chewing gum or eating mints keeps your mouth busy so it isn't free to nibble
Support
Can you try to stop with a friend? Make it a competition or a race, you will also have someone who is going through the same thing you are.
Your nails
Get some pictures of how you want your nails to look and look at the pictures a lot
Buy a bottle of expensive nail polish, the most expensive you can buy, the price should help you to stick to it cos no-one wants to waste money

Following steps might help you.
1) Announce to all your friends around you, that u want to stop that nail biting habit.
2) Request them, to remind you - or even u can ask them to take your hand off your mouth with a smile.
3) You can also imagine giant size germs entering your system through the mouth - when u start biting the nail.
4) Apply (consumable type) neem oil to your nails. It is good for your health - but the bitter taste will make you to keep the nails off from your teeth.
GOOD LUCK 2 U

The secret is to keep yourself busy.
Busy, busy, busy.
I had the same problem. I'd bite my nails when I was playing computer games or on the computer or in the bath. It's a nervous habit.
If you keep yourself busy, you will be so preoccupied with everything else that you'll realise, "Hang on a second, I need nail clippers!"

Figure out something else that you can do as a nervous habit. But make sure of course it's something that doesn't have such a negative effect on you. Something else, a little less conventional, would be self-hypnosis. If done right, apparently it can get you to convince yourself to stop doing something. Try this out:

try painting your nails with a pale colour and scratch that off with you teeth keep applying the colour after you've scratched it off, also buy a nail file and carry it with you when you get the urge to bite, file your nails, make sure you only file in one direction eventually you will start to become proud of how your nails look and you wont bite them or only bite your thumb nails

I did a search, and Control-It! seems to be a very popular product. I don't know if you've tried it or not, but it has a 3-star customer rating.

I do tooo!! Guilty but I'm not addicted to it, thank God.
Maybe if you have something to chew, like chewing gum or anything else chewable, you wont bite that often.
Or,
...how bout pulling out all your teeth... sorry.... bad joke!
