my family all eat meat. And i've seen some of my family members die, but mostly for other reasons. Many who eat meat always, have lived into their 80's 90's, and without even having any daily exercise except for walking, ,and talking alot. in fact my mom's aunt was like that. awesome person, just died this year and was so healthy at 90. so are vegetarians just trying to make us meat eaters feel scared and guilty?

No, it all depends on lifestyle and genetics basically. If you're a diehard vegetarian but smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, you're going to die before the guy that eats 3 pounds of red meats a day.

Many (not all) vegetarians do try to make the meat-eaters feel bad and try to say how bad it is and yada yada. But the truth is, no matter what you eat, as long as you live a healthy life, you'll be fine. You only live once, so live the way you want. If you really want a hamburger, go for it. No sense depriving yourself of the things you really want just to live another couple years. But on the other hand, many vegetarians just really don't like meat or think that it's animal cruelty and stuff, and that's fine. Just don't go vegetarian or vegan just because you hear it's "healthier," do it because you WANT to.

I've been a vegetarian for many years now, and I have to say that it is possible for both meat eaters and vegetarians to live long, healthy lives. And it's also possible for both of them to live unhealthy, short lives. There are many factors at play, such as the quality of food one consumes, exercise (or the lack thereof), and heredity.

Everyone has their own theories on this issue and usually quote the one that supports thier own food choices.
Many many people have lived good lives and long lives up to ages 85-95yrs. and had consumed meat daily and often 2-3 times daily.
So each to thier own. :)
