Jesus Christ is constantly seeking to have a relationship with you, so why not just take the time to attempt to reach out to him? We all are given one opportunity to get it right on this earth, so why not at least give it some serious thought. The way I see it is, if christians are wrong the worst thing that can happen is that we die trying to help people and turn into dust. On the other hand if we're right then we'll be spending eternity in heaven, while all non-believers will be condemned to hell-fire.

Prometheus brought fire to man, and is punished eternally by an eagle eating his liver. Why don't you love him?

The first requirement would be for him to really exist.

You are restating Pascals wager.

There are more than 2 possibilities. Moslems say you are damned for calling Jesus the son of god.

I could imagine a god who punishes "people of the book" for the actions they attribute to him.

One more thing, I belief what I think is true. That's the definition of belief.

How do you form beliefs based on a cost/benefit analysis?

Jesus, if such a person ever existed at all, is certainly long dead now - Can't have much of a relationship with a dead person. Moreover, Jesus is depicted in the Bible as thoroughly contemptible, since he supposedly promises eternal torture for anything that displeases him, even for mere disbelief. If you believe in one deity then you might as well believe there could be any other deity that people have ever invented, so by believing in Jesus you could end up in some other diety's hell, being tortured for all eternity for worshipping the wrong god. Any genuinely religious person should be terrified by that prospect. Atheists have no such worries since we know that it's all imaginary nonsense.

Loving Jesus involves avoiding sin and experiencing how good it is and how wise it is to live a good life, also how much peace it gives your mind. It is hard to love someone you don't know so you have to try it Jesus's way or see people living rightly to find out something about Jesus.

What would it take? For him to actually exist.
And since he is nothing more than a myth, that can never happen.
Understand now? Oh and by the way, your threats of hell and other such imaginary punishments, don't work anymore. People are beginning to understand just how childish your cult really is.

We are given infinite opportunities, not just one. Non-believers will ascend to heaven with us throught the true mercy of God. Sorry to dissappoint you with my altercative OPINIONS. It seems our OPINIONS are at ends. Oh well, God be with you--May he praise you for attempting to spread the Gospel (although poorly).
