Your 3 year old son climbed out on the Balcony and slipped, your 3 year old daughter climbed out to help him. Somehow the boy fell and grabbed your daughters leg and pulled her down too. She is screaming for you to help them. You run out on the balcony and grab your daughters hand, with your son hanging on to your daughters foot. Combined they are too heavy for you to raise back onto the balcony. You are getting tired and MUST make a choice. Do you hang on as long as possible and let them both fall to their death, or do you tell your daughter to kick her brother loose so that at least one of them will live? Forget about screaming for help, or falling with them. You only have two choices...Let them both fall to their death, or have your daughter kick her brother loose so that at least she can survive..What would you do? What choice do you make and why?

I would save the daughter. because at least i saved one. i would feel worse letting them both die when i could save one.

First, since my son and daughter are of the same age they must be twins.
second, as i have two young kids i would never let them have access to the balcony in the first place.
third, you cant rule out the third choice of falling with them because that's what i'm gonna do if no one comes around in time to help us. what kind of a person are you to not have the courage to die with your own kids?

Honestly, we'd all die together. There is no way, a mother can choose between her children. If she does, then she is a damn dog. I would never choose. Sorry that is how I feel. I could never live with the death of one of my children. I would live with regret and I'd end up blaming the one who survived. Yes I read your conditions, but I honestly couldn't choose between my children. That is not a choice that I could make.

Reverse the scenario:
You are falling of the balcony - your two kids
(3 year old's) trying to save you. You are to
heavy for them. What should they do?
Let go of you (your certain death) or:
Hang onto you and fall with you to their certain death?
Only these two option apply.
What should they do?

I certainly would tell your kids to let go off you.

Let them both die. You and your daughter would always feel guilty about the son. Plus it would be really f-ed to kick your son to his death.

I'm in good enough shape to hold onto two 3 year-olds.

No matter what would happen, I would end up dead. I would kill myself for not supervising my children properly around a balcony.

Well...you've limited the choices to only two things:

1.) Let them both die or

2.) Let one die.

I'd let one die / Save one.
