No, Jesus founded the First Baptist Church of Jerusalem. The Catholic Church is not a New Testament Church founded by Christ. If Jesus was going to ordain Peter as the first Pope why did he go to a Baptist to be Baptized? Jesus didn't get baptized by having some Pope or Catholic Priest sprinkling him with some long handled spoon. No sir, He went and found a Baptist to do it! Bless God both Jesus and John the Baptist knew what they were doing and they did it right the first time. As you may have guessed by now I'm one of those big mouth Baptist's. However, if anyone can correct me go ahead and try.

God or Jesus did not pick a sect or denomination for us to believe in. We are to be followers of Christ and read the word and obey His commands. I don't think the Catholic church is the only one founded by Jesus. The Catholic church has too many man made rules, priests cant marry, don't eat meat on Fridays, Confess to the priest etc. I guess I wont be getting the ten points.

I love seeing the truth posted for all to see. Yes, the Catholic Church is the only Church that was founded by Jesus. It is the one true Church and all other churches broke away because they didn't agree with Jesus' teachings.

The church foundation that Jesus founded was himself, not a denomination or institution.
Matthew 16:16~20 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God." Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, ...
The rock is Jesus, not Peter credited with started the Catholic Church.

No. Jesus founded the New Jerusalem. See Revelation when Jesus gives the church at Philadelphia an open door. The fact is, Christ coming in the clouds was available as soon as Christ ascended and was glorified. Christ coming in the clouds means to see the internal sense shining through the literal sense of the Word.

The first church was not found. The first church was in existence before the beginning. and this church was and still is an holy church.
EPHESIANS 1:4
4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
COLOSSIANS 1:16-18
16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18) and he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have preminence.
So NO. the Catholic church was not found by Jesus, but by some man whatever his name is. I pray for you. Amen

From what I understand about Jesus. He did not believe in organized religion. He saw that the Jewish church of his day was corrupt so he went out to spread the word with his followers. I believe the catholic church was founding by one of his followers after the death of Jesus, John I think. Jesus would have never started any church, because he did not believe in them.

Christ's original church ended with the great apostasy. Joseph Smith, by the authority of God himself, reorganized Christ’s original church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) to the earth with Christ himself as the cornerstone or leader: Read: Acts 3:19-21 and Matt. 17:11-13. It is the same organization that existed in Christ's original church: Read Eph. 4:11-14, 1st Tim. 3: 1-8 and Luke 10:1. It bears the name of Jesus Christ: Read: Eph. 3:21 and Acts 4:12. We claim revelation from God: Read: Amos 3:7 and Proverbs 29:18. Our officers or General authorities are called of God: Read: Heb. 5: 4 and Exodus 40:13-16. We do not have a paid ministry: Read: 1st Cor. 9:18, 1st Peter 5: 13, 2nd Thess. 3: 8 and Acts 20:34. We are a missionary church: Read: Matt. 24: 4, Matt. 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15. We have a foundation of Apostles and Prophets: Read: Eph. 2:19-20 and Luke 6:13-16.We claim divine authority: Read: John 15:16 Heb. 5: 4-12. We practice divine healings: Read: Mark 6:13, Mark 16:17-18, James 5:14-16 and Luke10: 9. We teach that God and Christ have bodies of flesh and bone: Read: Luke 24: 36 39. We teach that God and Christ are separate and distinct individuals: Read: Acts7: 55-56. We bestow the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands: Read: 2nd Tim.1: 6, Acts 8: 16-17and Acts 19: 6. We are called Saints: Read: 1st Cor. 14: 33 and Eph. 4:12. We baptize by immersion: Matt. 3: 16, Mark 1: 9-10, John 3: 23 and Acts 8: 38-39. We practice baptism for the dead: Read: 1st Cor. 15:29 and Heb. 11: 39-40. In Heb. 13:8, you will find why these things are important.
So, you see, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was not founded in the year 1830 at all. It was founded by Christ during his ministry and restored to the earth in these latter days as foretold by the ancient prophets.
The bible also tells of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. Read: Isa. 29:4 on, Ezek 37: 15-20, and John 10:16. The book of Mormon in no way replaces the bible. It is but another testament of Jesus Christ as written by the people of the western hemisphere. It goes hand in hand with the bible as they testify of each other's truth.

Yes, the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus.
In those days, a ruler or king would leave someone in charge by giving that person the "keys" to his kingdom. The people in that time understood what "giving someone the keys" meant.
Jesus appointed Peter as His vicar on Earth (our first Pope) when he gave him the Keys to the Kingdom. Peter handed on this authority (the "keys") to Linus, who handed it on to Cletus, who handed it on to Clement, and so on all the way down to the current Pope Benedict XVI.
The Pope is Jesus' representative on Earth until He returns in Glory.
Which Protestant pastor, minister, evangelist, preacher, etc. can make that claim??? Not a one.

No...Jesus DID NOT FOUND the Catholic church...the Catholic church was founded after his death and is heavily based upon his teachings. Saying Jesus founded the church is like saying he created it...he did NOT create Catholicism, in fact Jesus probably would not be happy with the way the Catholic church uses his name to promote hate and war. Jesus believed in peace and love, and didn't hate anybody...in fact one of his main teachings was treat everyone as you would like to be treated...the catholic church does not do this....I hope that answered your question.
