Vanilla is the best all-purpose ice cream, but chocolate is the best on its own. If you're throwing a party or something with lots of people and need an ice cream, go with vanilla and just offer toppings and such.

Chocolate... although with Vanilla you can add a lot more and also make it chocolate... but still Chocolate

Depends on how I feel. Most days I like Vanilla. Chocolate on hot days makes me wont something to drink.

I like chocolate but It can be a bit sickly tasting if you eat too much, so I'd go for vanilla.
