The oldest written work in the Englis language is "Beowulf". It's quite long, and doesn't rhyme. It's also a great story! It may not be too exciting as a speech project, but check it out.

Try "Howl" by Allan Ginsburg(berg?) or "Leaves of Grass" by Walt Whitman-- both are very long and don't rhyme; also the former is often thought to have been inspired by the latter.
