There will be a paternity test done on your child to prove that he is the father. Once that is proven, he can file for custody or joint custody of your child, and that will likely include how often and how long he can have visitation. Sometimes fathers ask the judge to require that the child reside in the same state or closer to where the father lives to make visitation easier for him.

They will do a blood test to determine whether or not he is the father. Then it will depend on what he is filing the suit for, to find out exactly what he is trying to get out of this.
