I know it's because I was hurt really bad by someone. It's been 5 years and I wish I could be in a healthy relationship but find every reason in the book why I shouldn't date. So what do I do? Drink wine, answer questions on yahoo answers and then fall asleep alone. Am I normal?

I agree with alot of "loving father"s advice.. not that u need to force it..when there may be issues or baggage that you bring into a relationship.. but that it is okay to find your own pace and to take the time to find a man that is respectful of it.. If this happens you will find eventually..-sorry -no fast solutions ..but yes you will find that it will get easier to get closer to a man... when that happens..
or just a thought... maybe you havent seen anybody worth it for you to find your comfort level with.. keep looking! (at your pace tho..) that is something very rare.. finding a mate that is worthy..lol
and may i add (respectfully ) i have found in my life you DO need to work on yourelf emotionally FIRST before your eyes can see who is out there who may be worthy..good luck and God bless.

Getting past the hurt in the past is always very difficult to do whether it's a man or a woman in that scenario. The best advice I can offer is to live a little, take some risks, because not every man you know is going to treat you the same as what you may have experienced years ago. I for one drink wine, and answer questions and still fall asleep, but it's the things in between that really have an affect on us - in our daily lives, and even in our own imagination! Is there a guy you're attracted to? Why not go have a drink with him? It's innocent, harmless, and still gets you out to experience life, and all it has to offer.

Don't let what happened in your past dictate how your future will be. Life is way too short! Live, love, and enjoy!

Good luck to you!

Everytime I get close to a man I always end up getting hurt. I just don't have the sense to stop trying. I don't know which is worse, the lonliness or the broken heart. You're not alone.

alright how old are you? cause if you are young you don't need to be getting drunk even if you aren't young still never get drunk it is really bad. if you like the guy alot and you can trust him with you and not do anything to you then keep dating the guy. OK. but if you don't think you can trust him then dump the guy OK. also if you need anymore questions email me at blink_monkeys@yahoo.com OK. bye also my name is Suzanne

its ok this is quite normal for you to be this way. does take time and yr own way of healing. youll find someone that will understand this and be assuring and take things slow till you feel relaxed enough to open up
