Yes it can. I had gall stones 2 years ago. When I first started showing symptoms, it was already a severe case sending me to the ER. They misdiagnosed it and sent me home with a prescription for antacid. A couple of weeks later when the symptoms escalated I returned to the ER and left yet again with another incorrect diagnosis. Eventually on the third visit a few days later they finally discovered the stones. They opted for emergency surgery to remove my gall bladder. As I was being prepped for surgery, the results of the last tests came in and showed the inflammation in my liver and pancreas. It took about 2 weeks to stabilize my liver and pancreas before the surgery could be safely performed.

So in answer to your question it DOES irritate your liver.

Yes, gallstones may cause inflammation in the biliary tract which is within the liver. I would recommend that you see a gastroenterologist, who might be able to reassure you and arrange to have your gallstones removed via endoscopic surgery.

I don't think so but you need to ask your hepatologist to see. I mean, if it doesn't hurt more now and you already have the gallstones, the obvious answer is no. Good luck with the Hepc though.....I have it too.
