Rule #1 - Never cook with a wine that you don't like the taste of - if you won't drink it, you won't like the favor it gives your food.

ok if your making a really big fancy soup or chicken or even in cakes you poor the extra wine or rum or whatever. thats the couple of ways you make food with wine. its kind of what makes the flavors. My moms a chef so i help her cook.

Depends on what you're cooking. Mostly I just add some to my soup, sauce, marinade...

Use real wine... the kind you would drink. NEVER cooking wine. :P

dash some wine preferrably the red variety on stews with beef, spag sauce to put a little twang on it

probably same as you cook with vinegar or beer it just adds different flavors.
