i am afraid there is no solution, except patting her head and saying no when she does it. My cat is 13 years old, and still does that sometimes. You have to try and pet her head from the back side, and dont go to touch her from the front side. This is what works for me. Good luck

Well, she could be in pain. I had a toy dog and it would often bite me....it turned out that it had massive health problems because of inbreeding and it ended up dying. This is not to say that your kitten will die or anything...but pay attention to where you pet it and see if there is a correlation. Also if it has been abused or was feral that could cause it to bite. In that case being friendly and gentle with it will cause it to trust you and consequently not bite. As with any cat, let it sniff your hand before petting it and don't head for vulnerable places like the throat or tummy.

This is a normal thing in young kittens. Normally they will play/fight with their siblings and take out this "aggression" on each other. However, since it doesn't have litter mates to play with, it is trying to play with you. Sometimes it can also be in the approach to the cat. If it sees your hand as a threat it will try to defend itself. However, in this case it's just trying to play I'm sure. As far as what you can do to change it's behavior... buy toys that you can dangle and have it chase or just wear a leather glove. It is something the cat will eventually grow out of. I have had many different pet cats over the years and this is what has worked with them.

My Kitten does this a lot! Your kitten thinks your playing with it.Do you encourage her to try and Play with your hand? If so dont do it if you don't want her 2 bite your hand , your just confusing her. Play with her with cat toys more often then maybe she wont feel the need to bite your hand when you touch her. Try this , but, dont slap or repremand her before trying this solution. She will just get upset and try and bite your hand more.

This is the way a kitten plays. All you can do when this happens is give the kitten a light slap and stop playing. She will learn. This is the way adult cats teach kitten what is okay or what is not ok.

My cats are 7, 5 and 4 and they all do it but not to hurt. When they do I just say no. I don't yell at them. Just calmly say no and they back off. I also agree with the teething answer but as I said, mine are older. Hope this helps.

Cats do that to play with you. They may not realize if it hurts you. My cat bites my fingers but he never bites hard enough to hurt, he simply plays. You should stop petting or playing with the cat when it bites you, if you want it to stop. If it doesn't bite you, praise and pet it.

she is just playing, you have to teach them that human fingers are not chew toys. I went through a lot of this with my boys. you should have a toy on hand when you play with her and when she starts to go for your hand give her the toy, if that doesn't work as soon as she starts to bit your hand stop the play session and walk away. she will eventually learn and grow out of it.

She's probably feeling playful. She'll outgrow it soon.
If not, tell her 'No!' when she does it again. And the next time she does it, tell her 'No!' and GENTLY swat her backside. That's what I had to do with an older cat with VERY LARGE claws that started to get out of hand once. He never did again.

She is playing. Stop her by *firmly* exclaiming, "No!" and blow in her face. Then give her a toy that it is OK to scratch and bite. Try petting her when she is a more restful, less playful mood and she'll be less likely to bite.
