100, that's what IQ is all about.

The average is always 100 for every age. The IQ score is based on age and 100 is always average. A 110 puts you in the high average range. This means you scored better than 75 out of every 100 twelve year old kids who took that test.

The average range runs from 85 or 90 to 110 or 115, depending on the test and how it is "normed," meaning how everyone taking the test compares to everyone else who took it when the test was being developed.

In general, IQ doesn't change much, although, if you were having a bad day or second guessed yourself a lot, you could score lower than you really are.

130 is the usual demarcation for "very superior" or what most people call "genius." Only one of 100 people score 130 or better.

A person's IQ does not get higher or lower when they get older; it stays relatively the same no matter how old they are. So the average IQ of a 12-year old is the same as the average IQ of an adult, which is 90-110.
