No, you simply are in a difficult situation. My wife and I had a LDR for 3 years. Prior to that we had been going out for 3 years. We ended up in different graduate schools. We would take turns flying out on long weekends, making daily phone calls, whatever it took.
You need to evaluate where you are in your relationship. Talk to her honestly about where the two of you are going. How long are you going to be apart? Just know that it is possible to make LDR's work, but they are kind of like marriage. You need to really work at it.
