As long as the dog is familiar with you, it's not like with birds, where if you touch their young, they'll refuse them. You shouldn't need to ''help'' them feed. They'll do it naturally.

Puppies do feed naturally, but when my friend tried to help her pups feed from their mother she growled at her and she had that dog for 4yrs.

Of course...as long as your dog is domesticated (and not a wolf or something) you are part of the dogs family and the mom knows your smell, so she won't be threatened by your smell on the pups.

And, the more you handle them, the more used to handling they will be when they grow up.

I think you can, but make sure that you DO NOT have any thing sented or perfume on you or elce the mom may reject the puppies.
