I don't know how to begin to help you. How old are you ? Do you know for a fact that you're gay ? There are groups that "de-program" people that are gay, but those people are usually deeply religious and see it as a sin. You can't change how you were born and feelings also change. Have you acted on your impulses ? If not then there might be way more factors at play. There is nothing wrong with being who you are as long as you're happy.

You need to talk to people you trust and get to the roots of your feelings. It's a short life do what you can to get the most out of it.

some of these answers are so silly. if u are truly gay u cannot stop being gay. u are born this way and at some point in life realize it. this is not something u can change. hide yes u can hide it and pretend and do as society wishes. but deep down u will always be gay. being gay is hard because of the past and present negativity with gay issues but being gay is like being straight. u love, u have sex, u feel....its all the exact same. straight people are just jealous cos we steal all their peeps. lol no just kiddin. Im lesbian and wouldnt change it. i love having sex with woman. women are so hot. im sure u think men are just too damn sexy to pass up eh? ahh well. u be who u are and once uve accepted ur sexuality u can have such fun with it and really find ur path in life. good luck man!

Dispite what some religious factions and many people who answered this question may believe, homosexuality isnt a choice, it is a mix of genetics and upbringing. Dont worry about it, in time it will be easier to accept. For now, I agree with the person who wrote saying you should visit some websites that might help. It can feel lonely and sometimes even wrong because of what others say, but people, in general, tend to discriminate against things or people they just dont understand.
In the end you have to decide whether your a good person or not, and accept you for who you are, if you do others will follow suit.
You'll be fine, dont worry! :)

It is possible to stop being gay, people arent born gay, dont let the other people on this site tell you any different. If you want to be straight, be straight, it isnt impossible.

www.exodus-international.org

And the book, "Coming Out Straight."

You should stop hanging out with your gay friends, they will criticize you for going back to being straight, and will not support you as you should be supported. I wish you the best of luck. From an Ex-Gay myself, it is possible, everyone who says it isnt is just BSing you because they dont have what it takes to go through it, or they are only theorizing.

Also, the people who say isnt possible arent even gay themselves! I cannot emphasize it enough that people arent born gay.

Going from Gay to straight is easier than going from straight to gay. I wish you the best of luck, and will be praying for you.

If you are not true to yourself, you will never be totally happy. If you know you are attracted to other guys, then that's where you will find love.

If you are afraid of what your family/friends say, then find a support group or move out as soon as you can.

I can't believe that in today's day and age, being gay/lesbian is still seen as some sort of disease that can be cured, or a mindset that can be turned off and on.

You are fine the way you are and never lie to yourself, because everyone deserves to be happy.

You can't change who you are. The best way to fight what you think is a problem is to except it. Being gay isn't a bad thing I have friends who are gay. They still talk and act like a straight guy and they sometimes have problems with it but they decide to except the way they are.If someone doesn't like the way you are than you know they aren't your friends and If they don't leave you alone than laugh it off make a joke too.Act like it's nothin.

Well I wish it was like that but its not. U cant just want to be gay or want to stop being gay and it happens. U are attracted to the same sex and theirs nothing wrong w/ that. U kno that one day u'll find a gay person who makes u happy and ur going to want to be gay. But for ur convenyuns try to date the ladies and see if u feel more attracted to them or not.

My son wants to stop too. Just accept the way you are and be happy with it. Its the way your born not acquired like others fail to believe. I am a mother of a gay and I know how it is for you. You can't stop being gay just like others can't stop being a heterosexual.

You can, as someone else suggested, as your doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist. You will probably have to explain to the Dr. why you want to see the psychiatrist if you take this route, so they can refer you to one who has experience in this area. You can also look through a phone book or do an online search for a psychiatrist or psychologist on your own. Many of them work on a sliding scale for fees if you don't have insurance to cover them (meaning they charge you based on what you can afford). If you want to not be gay for religious reasons, there are many religious organizations that will work with you as well. I know a former homosexual who is happily married with children now. He was helped by http://www.redeemedlives.org/index.htm .

No one can stop being gay. You are born one way or the other. If you were able to change being gay, I don't think your all too sure you are gay. Explore other options.
