Please help before it dies. They have had babies before but they never survive. I need to hand feed this baby in order for it to have a chance at survival. What do I feed it?

I hand raise lovebirds and love it!
You can pick up a hand raising mixture from any pet store called egg and biscuit mix all you do is put some of the mixture into a cup and boil some water put the water into the mixture till it's all pasty but easy enough for the bird to eat and feed the baby lovebird, make sure it's not hot!
Find a box for it to sleep in with heaps of soft things like rags or an old jumper and stick the box under a 40 watt light at night make sure you feed the baby love bird every three hours till it gets all its feathers, then feed it 3 times in a day, early in the morning, middle of the day and when you go to bed.
Hand raised lovebirds make the best pet birds!
Goodluck!

"My dad and I used to have two lovebirds, boy and girl. We gave them a little nest box and gave them lots of shreddings, and they build a nest and laid 5 eggs. This mom DID protect the eggs, and she kept them warm and incubated until they hatched (newborn lovebirds are pretty weird looking-- they're mushy and featherless and gooey and pink). Two of the eggs never hatched and rotted; one baby got sat on by the mom and died, and the other two, once born, were completely forgotten by the mom. She didn't even notice them. They just sat in the nest and didn't get any food. They didn't grow very much (though they did get their eyes and little tufts of feathering) and were always crying, but their mommy still didn't feed them.

So my dad and I took the two surviving chicks out and we fed them by hand from an eyedropper some birdie baby food from the pet store, four times a day. The chicks were not very strong and looked like they were going to die, but after several weeks of feeding they got bigger and more fluffy. We kept feeding them until they became almost fully grown, and then they started to eat seed :) It made me so happy."

Find yourself an avian vet (or even a local bird breeder) who can teach you how to hand feed the bird, get some Exact hand feeding formula, and follow the directions on the package. Preferably do it in that order - improper feeding techniques can easily kill a baby bird.

Maybe you should have figured that out BEFORE the egg hatched. And don't ask on yahoo answers. Go to google.

Wal Mart has a baby bird food. It comes in a canister with instructions on feeding. I raised a love bird on this stuff and he was very healthy.

there is special formula for the birds you can mix up--I hand fed mne every two hours around the clock with a syringe and then as time went by, they let me know when they were full but in the beginning i had to force them to eat as they didnt know what to do. that is the best bird you can have is a hand fed one

checking the nest or interference, make some birds annoying and then they dont care of their eggs or chicks, so make your contact limited to only their feeding and drinking and let the birds do their natural duty to raise their chicks.
