You can go to a beauty supply store like Sally Beauty and buy a comb called the "Flat Topper" It has a level on it like the tool. Some clipper manuals have directions for basic haircuts too. Good clipper brands like Oster and Andis should have instructions in their manuals.

a crewcut is very simple. Basically it is an all over one length cut done with clippers. You can get clippers with guard combs to leave the hair the length you want it. Just run the clippers over your head, back and forth, until it is all even.

YOU DIDN'T SAY IF YOUR GIVING YOURSELF THE CREW CUT OR YOUR GIVING SOMEONE ELSE THE CUT.IF IT'S FOR YOU GO TO BARBER. IF SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE MAKE SURE HE/SHE KNOWS IT WILL BE YOUR 1'ST TIME USING CLIPPERS.
