any way to fill in small scratches on eyeglass lenses or lessen their effect without distorting vision?

I tried this stuff called lens doctor that was supposed to do it but it really did not work well. Believe it or not, any kind of wood wax liked pledge, ect will work well on sunglasses. The wax fills in light scratches and then you can buff them will a cleaning cloth. regular glasses will probably need to be buffed out by a optometrist.
