No one who has ever lived can tell you anything whatsoever about heaven or hell. ............... You need neither fear nor hope for either one. Whatever you do there will be PEOPLE around to tell you it was both good and bad. You go to jail for a horrendous crime there are people there ready to congratulate you for it. Such people are not all in jail. PEOPLE will tell you anything and everything about right and wrong, about heaven and hell. You can make up your own mind about right and wrong but you have no right to make any judgements about heaven and hell and no one else does either. They never did. Make fear your servant and not a master. Hope is for the here and now and fear should serve to protect you.

I would rather just hope for the best in any given situation! I have never feared hell! Even as a small child I thought the adults around me that talked of a hell were whacked!...but that's just me !Good luck getting a rational answer from someone that could believe in such a place....But I have a question for you? Why would a God need anything? And even more bizarre why would a God give you free will and then condemn you for exercising it by making the rules unfair from the start? You can only make choices based on the information or ie...experiences that you have and some people do not have very good information....so how can a fair and just punishment (Hell) And PS...I like Danielles answer!

I know I'm going to heaven because I'm a Christian and I don't fear hell for the same reason.

Hell is to be feared, if god's word is not followed, or worse yet, spat upon, then retribution is spelled out in scripture. Keep your eyes on heaven and the things which will lead you to hell will not be so easily seen......

I'm an agnostic. I'm not sure if God exists or not but thought of Hell scares me sometimes or even something much worse. Although deep down I feel quite sure that non of these horrible places exist. I'm just hoping we either go some where nice, get reincarnated, or just sees to exist, but don't go any where horrible I don't think anyone deserves to go to such a horrible place just coz they don't believe.

We often believe in Heaven because we fear Hell. That is what propels religion.

Though I tend to believe that whatever we believe is what our afterlife will be, as we are more than mere mortals.

As a Reincarnationist I think it is best to realize that 'God' is a good guy, in spite of the neverending bad press he gets from organized religions, and there is no hell except that which we create ourselves out of fear and ignorance.

I think heaven and hell happens on earth and how we deal with it sets us up for the kind of afterlife we have earned.

Best thing is to forget about both and live for today and for now. We don't know either exists so what's to fear? At least 'now' exists so enjoy it.
