I took an overdose of painkillers recently (within the past week) hoping I would die, but it didn't do anything.
I've got pretty bad toothache just now and I've been taking painkillers for that but someone just answered another question that I asked about the toothache and said that if I take more painkillers I might die.
Is that true? I don't think I really want to die, I don't know, I'm really scared and confused right now. Can I take pills for the toothache or do I need to stop taking them?

I took one pack of paracetamol and two packs of ibuprofen a few days ago. I know it was stupid, I wasn't really thinking straight at the time. I don't want to go to the doctor incase they think I'm just being stupid.

I'm not addicted to any kind of drugs. I took the overdose because I wanted to die. It didn't work. Then yesterday I got really bad toothache and I've been taking painkillers regularly since then and someone said I might die and that's what I need to know, whether that's true or not.

-k- This is not the forum that you should be asking this type of question. You REALLY need to seek professional advice if you have been contemplating suicide. Please, if this is a serious question, for the sake of everyone, talk to your parents or a counselor. My guess is that a toothache should be pretty low on your list of priorities.

I can't answer your question about the pain killers, but, it seems several others have. Anyway, you are obviously crying out for some help with depression. You have already made the first step to recovering from whatever has you so depressed. It would be in your best interest to seek some professional help. If you are in fear that your "Doctor" will dismiss your attempted overdose as a joke, I think you are wrong. But, if I am wrong about your Dr., just call 911. They will not laugh at you or dismiss what you have to say. There are millions of people out here who care about you, even if we have never met in person. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Hang in there and make a phone call. Heck email me and I'll give you my number if you want to just unload on someone who will not judge you. Good Luck.

the tooth ache isn't your biggest problem, if you have a counselor see them immediately, if not see your regular doctor immediately and tell them what you did and they should arrange for you to see someone or give you the names and contact imformation of reputable people that can help you. this may be depression or another chemical imbalance that can be easily treated, or you may need someone to help you sort your thoughts out. either way, you need help, even just thoughts of suicide are serious!!! as for the toothache, put old fashioned uncooked rice in an old clean sock, tie the end, micro it for 1 1/2 minutes (may need a little longer, but start with 1 1/2 min.) place it on your jaw at the site of the toothache. you can buy ambesol, or other similar products to put directly on the toothache, and should be able to take ibuprofen according to directions on the bottle.(some say put an aspirin on the toothache, this may work, but i never get past the taste. i will pray for you, please get help!! you can't see a dentist if your dead.

First of all, no - it won't kill you if you continue taking painkillers for your toothache. But I want you to take all the painkillers you have right now and flush them down the toilet. I don't care whether you have to sit up all night with your toothache, it is NOT SAFE for you to have pills in the house right now. Trust me, I've been in your situation before and I've had to get rid of pills many times when I don't feel safe.
So get rid of the pills. First thing tomorrow morning you need to go to the dentist and get your toothache sorted out. Then you need to make an emergency appointment with your GP and you have to go and tell him what you did and why. He will NOT think you're stupid hun, GPs deal with this all the time and they know how to get you the help you need. I know it's scary, but you can't keep going on like this. You need help. And the GP is the first step in getting that help.

If you overdosed on the pain killers more than 2 or 3 days ago, they're out of your system now. You should be okay to take ONE for your toothache. You're not addicted to them so that shouldn't be a problem. Better yet, take an Advil.
HOWEVER, your bigger problem here is your confusion with your life. Please, please, please call your doctor or another professional and tell them what you did. It's one thing to think about dying, another to actually act on your thought. You really need to seek advice. Good luck and I really hope everything works out for the better.

Too much of anything will harm your body. You sound confused, so don't make any decisions about your life until you've had a chance to come down off the pills. And, remember you are never alone, God loves you.

Suicide - A permanent solution to a temporary problem.
A natural toothache remedy is to place Cloves (Its a spice) directly on the aching tooth. It works within 1 minute and can last for hours.

You need to talk to a MD before you take anything. Overdosing can cause serious damage to your kidneys and liver. You made need to be tested for this damage. Try a warm compress on your tooth while you wait for an appointment.

maybe- you should call your doctor , you may have done irreversible damage to your liver- I don't think you really want to die , life will get better.... If you have a toothache you need a dentist , if it is an infection the pain will subside if you are prescribed an anti-biotic

After messing up my life badly with alcohol, etc., in my late twenties I asked Jesus Christ into my life as my personal Lord and Savior. He straightened things out for me. If He hadn't, I would have been dead and in hell long ago. Please read the Bible, New Testament first, for more information, and pray for God's will in your life. Also, look for a Bible-believing church to attend, like Baptist. The Lord is faithful. I recommend Him to all. He gives peace, joy, salvation and many other blessings to those who trust in Him.
