You're asking this question in the wrong country. It's (arranged marriage) a difficult concept to understand and make cohesive with American idealogies of freedom above all. Personally, I think there is a lot to be said about the practice. Depending on who was doing the arranging, I think it could greatly benefit society.

I can't answer this entirely, but I can tell you this.

In many arranged marriage situations, you grow to love that person over time and generally divorce is not accepted. There are some obvious benefits there.

I would like to add that some of the most beautiful artistic creations (paintings, sculpture, music, poetry) were created because of courtly love, or love between two people that could not be together because they were promised to someone else.

That being said, I don't think it's a good idea, personally. I think there are other solutions to the world's problems that might work better.

Best wishes.

No. Even with arranged marriages historically there was plenty of divorce it was just never talked about. Number one reason for divorce in the 1700's & 1800's was abandonment, then cruelty, then adultery. If you go into any good sized genealogical library you can find numerous volumes on divorce. Arranged marriages would not fix the high divorce rate.

I don't think so. I think there would be a lot more miserable married people if all countries had arranged marriages. Love is the best reason for marriage, not whatever "advantages" can be had by an arranged marriage.

I think starting with loving educated good parents and parenting skills would give us a better world.

But in some cases i think an arranged marriage can be useful. So long as the couple can agree to learn to love eachother.

Totally not- and there still are in some countries. In the Bible it says a man and woman must love each other if they get married. How many arranged marriages do you think had love?

People equate arranged with forced which is not true. Arranged can be a co-operative venture.
