First, one would need to believe that one needs a "Savior". Not everyone believes this.
Second, this question is similar to these:
Why do people reject Shiva?
Why do people reject Odin?
Why do people reject Apollo?
Why do people reject the concept cows are sacred?
Why do people reject Ra?
Why do people reject the concept of reincarnation?
The answer is simply that either they are not religious or their religions do not include these things. Since Christianity is the only religion that a man/deity named Jesus Christ needs to be their savior, it stands to reason that only Christians would embrace this concept. The concept is as meaningless to a non-Christian as the above questions would be to Christians.

Well, to start off, I don't believe the bible is anything more than historical piece of art, for lack of another word. It doesn't make sense beyond that. I've also never really understood the whole "you have to get through me to get to God". I believe in God. I believe that there was a Jesus and that he was a really good guy. I don't believe that I need to go through anyone to be close to God. A relationship or no relationship with God is personal and indvidual.
There is a lot about organized religion that I just don't get, but I'll save the space and just say I'm not rejecting Jesus, my view is just different than yours.

This question makes me think of the picture in my living room called 'Saving Grace". It depicts Christ reaching down from Heaven to Man. While Christ is holding on to mans hand, man is still reaching, but not grasping on to Christ. It is the Grace of Christ that saves us, but he gave us free will and we have to be willing to be saved.People often reject what they do not understand, and many do not understand how Awesome He is.

Jesus was rejected while He was alive on the earth...now that He isn't with us, it hasn't changed much. BUT there will come a day ( and it won't be long) that nobody will deny the Christ.

People reject Christ because of their sinful nature. They do not seek God, do not want God and will not follow him while dead in their sins. They are enemies and haters of God. Unless God changes their nature, opens their hearts, regenerates them, they will go where they want to go. Away from God in life and in death. Once God has mercy and saves them from themselves, changes their nature, gives them a new heart they will indeed turn to him in faith and repentance. They will seek him freely according to their new nature for they have been chosen by the Father and given to the Son before the foundation of the world. Jesus will raise them up at the last day, giving them eternal life forever, never loosing any the Father has given to him.

they reject coz of the lack of proof to support the claims of this super being that can walk on water and turn water to wine. if he's so great how could the devil still be alive honestly if satan is all evil and JC is powerful then be rid of the demon spawn. if you ask me they reject him coz JC cant really protect us from anything. although like most well planned out stories the bible is a good read too.

I do because I am basing my choice of savior on emperical evidence of their existance. That throws Jesus out of the running and places Mohammad and Budda in the lead.
Besides, neither of them take all the credit of enlightenment for themselves and Budda actually shows you the way.

Why do Christians reject science and the theory of evolution, claiming that the Earth is only 6000 years old?

One of the main reasons is, some just don't know who he is. They were never taught it, or even knew he existed. For others, maybe at one time they were believers, but then something bad happen to them or someone close to them and they turned away. Then there are those, who want proof, something they can see or touch. All one can hope for is that one day, they will come to know him and feel his love.

Not everyone wishes to follow the path of christianity. There are many different paths to different deities and paths to no deities. None are better than the other. There is just the path that is right for the individual.
