Familial love – affection brokered through kinship connections, intertwined with concepts of attachment and bonding
Free love – sexual relations according to choice and unrestricted by marriage
Platonic love – a close relationship in which sexual desire is nonexistent or has been suppressed or sublimated
Puppy love – romantic affection that is not "mature" or not "true". The term reflects a bias that love between youngsters is somehow less valid.
Religious love – devotion to one's deity or theology
Romantic love – affection characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire
Unrequited love – affection and desire not reciprocated or returned
True love - love without motive, condition or attachment (see Metta)
There are also six Greek terms for differing types of love:

Eros - erotic love; sometimes portrayed as romantic love. More characterized by passion for a singular person and sexual desire.
Platonic - love between friends, or love where sexual desires are not present (sometimes referred to as philos instead)
Storge - a friendly, affectionate type of love. Sometimes has been portrayed as parental or familial love.
Philos - a pluralistic type of "love", also sometimes written as a friendship type of love
Agape - a selfless, giving love, the love one has for all of humanity or for others simply because of their human nature
Mania - obsessive love (a minor type of love)


Commitment on the other hand is the expectation that the relationship is going to last forever.

Love is disease ,a virus, a hazadourous invincible element that live in the heart and mind eats you up slowly.
If you were infected, you will be blinded to all the necesities of life.

There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......

(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Something that you can't deny, something that you know you feel. And something you can't get your mind off. I mean, you'd do anything to see this person again and anything to fulfill or satisfy this person. Regardless of the circumstances.

There isn't an exact definition for it, everyone has their own. The only way I do know how to put it is.. you can't see it, but you can feel it.
