The only permanent solution I have is the Austin Air PET Machine. A bit pricey but if you want to permanently keep your cat and permanently have the smell gone then I’d suggest it no doubt. No matter how hard I tried to wash out the carpets or the couches or even the walls the smell would always come back. Apparently its just a lingering smell in the air, so with the pet machine now I don’t have to waste my time every week scrubbing for hours. Hope this helps! -Randall

The best way I've found is to fill a spray bottle with half water and half white vinegar and spray it on it as soon as you find it. The vinegar neutralizes the urine and normally gets rid of the sent, but you have to really soak it if its into the pad of the carpet or it will still be there. I learned this from a carpet cleaner expert.

The best thing you can use is called "natures miracle". It will work better than anything else. My mom uses this at her veterinarian clinic for pet stains and odors. It will even take the smell out of woodwork and cement. You can usually get it from a vet clinic and sometimes at pet stores. Good luck !

Some of it will just be time and make sure they don't use again but for the smell I use clorox room spray . It really works well on strong smells. I have used it on floors furniture even a old trunk did a good job

Febreze Laudry Freshener. Use it straight and then lots of water after about 10 minutes to clean it up.
We have 2 girls cats who seem to be in a peeing contest and I swear by this.

Those cleaners are only for the stain. For the odor, use a high grade bacterial/enzyme digester.
