I was given a bottle of McCormick Straight Corn Whiskey by my mother-in-law who has had the bottle for at least 18 yrs now. The bottle had already been aged 5 yrs. The jug is crockery with a sealed cork on top. There is about 750ML of liquid still inside and at the time the whiskey was 80.6 proof. Need to find out if it is worth anything or not. Thank you for your time :) Will email you pictures if you need to see the bottle.

Does anyone know how much it might have been purchased for originally?

It's probably not worth too much more than what it was purchased for. Whiskey isn't like scotch or wine, the older the better.

Once whiskey is removed from the barrel, it can no longer age.

Check on eBay to see what a whiskey crock would sell for.
