She worked 25 hrs. per week- He charges her $150 per month which is great. He complains tho. She cooks for him 3 nights a week and cleans. He makes over $100, 000. She has loans.
I help her too. He is selling the house and will make a profit of $70,000. I asked him to not charge her for the last two months- She's going away for grad. school which is to a cvity school. He is mad at me for asking that she not pay him . I guess it's none of my business and she did not want me to ask him, but isn't that what families members do- help each other?

Yes, families are supposed to help each other, but there is a difference in helping and being overinvolved. Since your daughter is over the age of 18, and she didn't want you to say anything, you probably shouldn't have said anything. I think it is silly that he is mad at you for asking, but it probably wasn't your place. A helpful thing to do would be to loan her the money, possibly, if she wanted it. I am that age, and personally, I wouldn't appreciate it if my mom went behind my back to do something like that. Everyone is different, though.

You need to know when its your place to get involved though, asking a person to forego another person's rent is insulting both parties. The person who is renting the apartment will see it as an insult to the pride because oyu are basically saying that they aren't good enough to gethte money to pay their own bills and the person who owns the building is saying that you want them to skip out on profits (which is wrong tehy aren't renting for charity.)

Your son seems like he is willng to help her, but he is also a bit greedy. Of course, it does sound like he has done well and works hard.

But your daughter is in school and paying him and cooking and cleaning for him, which is worth a lot.

I think a 150 means more to your daughter then to him, but I guess you should stay out of it. They both asked you to.

your son is very ungrateful and needs to pay his sister for all the cooking and cleaning she did. This guy had a slave and got paid for having her. It's a good thing he's not my son. I kick the crap out of him. I hope he feels good about USING his sister.Hopefully, she'll get her revenge on the jerk !!!

Because they are totally egocentric and could care less about others. It'll come back to haunt them though

I say if they're fine with the arrangement, don't say anything. For the record, I don't think he should have been charging her at all. But that's between us. :)
