Jesus is talking to the 2 churches he finds favor with. Why does the subject of fake Jews come up in both letters to these churches?

Revelations 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.

Revelations 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Who are these fake Jews Jesus spoke of, in your opinion?

those who are claiming to be Jews today! they are the only ones making this claim with absolutely no proof! Jesus was a hebrew from the tribe of Judah and never followed the religion of Judaism which is a form of Hebraism along with Christianity and Islam and the reason why semites are Jewish .

From the Macarthur study Bible, it states that Rev 2:9 is speaking of Jews that did not follow Jewish custom, but were "spiritual pagans who allied with other pagans in putting Christians to death." Rev 3:9 are talking about these same Jews.

As far as the "synagogue of Satan" quote, the Bible notes state that "with the rejection of its Messiah, Judaism becomes as much a tool of Satan as emperor worship." While the Jews are, and always will be God's people, thier resistance at this time can and was used by Satan against God's purpose.

The fake Jews mentioned here are any Jews who fail to recognize Jesus as the true Messiah promised from back in the time of Moses. Paul writes of such as well.

Fake Jews can be taken by the church today to mean fake Christians. Those who decieve by pretending to teach the truth but lead astray honest seekers with false doctrins and dogma of mans invention which are in most all cases inspired by satans forces.

I believe this is saying that God knows who truly believes and who does not, regardless of what they say.

There are many people to claim to be religious, but their actions do not match their words.

He mentions Jews because that was the prevailing religion at the time-there were synagogues but no churches.

you're quoting from Revelations. In Revelations, both the Christ and the Antichrist return. The Antichrist poses as the real Christ, and some people are fooled and follow him instead of the real guy. These people are the fake jews.

I'm not familiar with these scriptures. But I think the fake Jews are
persecuting hypocrites who are not really Jews.

I can't speak to intelligently on this subject but I may be able to offer some insight. Many people claim that they know God and Jesus but do not listen to His teachings and deny Him to their friends. There is a difference between being a believer in Christ and acting as one. I hope that helps.
