The solution to this dilemma [boosting your metabolism] is an active lifestyle that includes aerobic exercise, a solid weight training program, and a healthy diet. What is a healthy diet you ask? A healthy diet is based around whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and lean protein. A healthy diet keeps your metabolism in high gear with 4 to 6 small meals a day. It’s flexible enough to allow for popcorn at the movies or cake at a birthday party. No food is off-limits, but sweets and high fat junk food are eaten less often and in smaller quantities. A healthy diet is realistic and permanent; not something you suffer through for a week or two and then quit.
The goal is to consume as many calories as you can while still losing body fat and maintaining or gaining lean muscle. If your calories are already below normal, don’t restrict them further. Instead stick with your current amount and focus on becoming stronger and more active, so you can gradually increase your calories to a normal healthy level. If your calorie intake is already in a healthy range, decrease it only slightly, and only if necessary. A small reduction of about 250 calories a day, or 10-15 percent less than usual, is more likely to protect your lean muscle and less likely to trigger a slow-down in your metabolism.
Following this type of routine, it’s possible to gain about one pound of muscle per week and lose about one pound of fat per week. The end result is that the number on the scale might not move much at all, it may even go up. Your clothes will get loser and your self-esteem will sky-rocket. Yet the number on the scale won't budge!?!?! It's at this point that a lot of people will chuck the weight training because they don't understand the physiology of what's happening.
The truth is that when you're strength training it's possible to get smaller and heavier at the same time. Muscle is a much denser tissue than fat. A pound of muscle is like a little chunk of gold, while a pound of fat is like a big fluffy bunch of feathers. The fat takes up more space on your body. At this point, it's best to toss out the bathroom scale and rely on the way you look and the way your clothes fit. The scale can be misleading and discourage you when you're actually doing great.
The bottom line is that you want to make strong, healthy, positive changes rather than punishing your body and your spirit with starvation. Your goal is the sleek healthy body of a naturally lean person who can enjoy what they eat. You want to avoid at all costs the frail sagging body of a chronic dieter who has to measure every morsel.

#1. WEIGHT TRAIN. Muscle is the most active tissue in your body, it keeps your metabolism high even at rest.
#2. Do HIIT, High intensity interval training. It revs up your metabolism instantly and keeps it up for several hours. An example using jogging would be to run full force for 2-4 minutes then walk for 6-8 minutes then repeat this sequence for 15-20 minutes. This technique can be used on a bike, stepper, treadmill etc.
#3. Eat 6-8 small meals a day. Digestion speeds up your metabolism.

Well there are a couple of ways. The first and safest is to increase your physical activity. (Exercise). The second is to plan your meals so you eat 5 small meals a day, but don't overdue the calories and fat. Third you can drink a high quality, low calorie energy drink. Fourth is to take a "diet pill" as most do just that, increase your metabolic rate for a short period of time

Start by eating a very healthy breakfast. Forget the pre-sweetend cereals and doughnuts. Eat nutritious. At each meal, eat more fruit and vegetables. If you are trying to lose weight, changing your eating habits will work wonders on your body. Stay away from sugar. Have no seconds, and put smaller portions on your plate. You will also need to do some exercising, but you don't need to go overboard with them. Exercising for 10 min. 3 times a day does the same thing as exercising for 30 min. Good luck. Eat 3 meals a day about every 3-4 hours and exercise 4 times a week at least 30 minutes.

Eat more but with the right kind of food. Reduce carb, i.e. bread,rice,pasta,potato,and the like including sweets. Eat more vegies. Keep softdrink at minimum. Infact, if you can eat more frequent with reasonable amount it is best for your health.
When people go on starvation diet, your body thinks you will starve so it begins to store more fat. The less you eat the slower is your metabolic rate.

3 moderate meals and 3 snacks a day. remember to eat healthy high quality nutrient dense food. exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week and be sure to include resistance or weight training 3 days a week. when you are more fit, increase your time and your reps eventually working up to an hour of cardio a day and 45 minutes of weight lifting/resistance work 4 days a week. good luck.

Eat small portions of food 6-7 times a day, the more you eat keeps the metablolism going, keeps your body working at all times. Also drinking water (ice water) being better since your body has to get it body temp first.
