i am from australia all my life i been wearing speedo for swimming but my wife reckon i could not wear speedo here in the usa as they are not accepted over here is that correct or is it just her hang ups

No one after the age of 5 should wear a Speedo. Go for the board shorts!

American's do not typically endorse the wearing of Speedos. That's only acceptable overseas.

You can definitely wear speedos at your age. There is no law against it. Some people may turn their noses up or whisper, but it's not about what everyone else thinks. What matters is what you think.

wear whatever you want but in my opinion speedos only look good on competitive swimmers and then only during competitions. you should wear whatever is comfortable and makes you feel confident.
