Why do these same people have a victim mentality and think that everybody is attacking them, when in reality, they are the ones doing the attacking?

Sometimes I think they don't realize they are spreading lies. They get this information from people they trust. That doesn't mean that those they do trust are trustworthy, or that those people don't realize that what they spread isn't truth. The lies that get spread are usually ones that were started in a different era. Like the wild stories of pagans dancing under the full moon with the devil around a bonfire, killing animals and babies, etc... These are things the Church spread about "heretics" during their inquisitions. So, those today that don't really read up on that part of the history (I don't know how you could miss it), don't realize these were lies when they were first spoken, used to take people's lives, then their property. It's a vicious cycle, but one that can be broken if you have patience. Just don't allow your anger to get the best of you.

But I do find it wonderfully ironic when I hear a lot of these things, because most of the one's who do this don't realize that the information usually comes from a source they normally don't agree with in a general sort of way. It's easy to fall in that rut of using any information, true or false, just to get at someone who doesn't agree with you.

Fear of the unknown can generate hate. Many religous people are forbiden to talk to those outside their circle of belief. I think that's a good rule to teach children, but at some point in life, a person has to look at the world they live in. If only to identify which threats are from the world, and which are from within.

Also, many people don't know that words can hurt, even righteous words.

People fear what they do not understand. I understand both sides of the Christian/pagan line because i converted from christian to pagan. I am verbally attacked by those that are christian, but have no understanding of the pagan beliefs. I only defend my beliefs, rather than force them on others. My rule is if you ask I will tell, otherwise, what I believe is my own.

Some people spared lies for one they have nothing better to do, 2nd they just do this to entertain them selves and start to get other people to start rumors that are not even true about somebody else and subconsciously doing this makes them feel good feel good about themselves.

Because they feel insecure maybe...and when they attack others it makes them look better...or so they think. People will do whatever it takes to look better. It's sad but true.

Fear is a dangerous thing. Look what it did in the southern US in the 60's.

they're afraid of people who are different than them, and may have been taught the lies themselves.

It is an unfortunate, but common occurance. I'm sure we all have our own examples.

Best wishes.
