The Jewish sabbath begins at the light of the first three stars on Friday until the same on Saturday. Strict Jews respect the commandment not to work on the Sabbath. This means not even switching on a light bulb, or pushing a button to call a lift. They would rather walk the stairs. The sabbath is a time for the family to get together and celebrate and have fun. Often they dance and sing. The women of the house will light a candle and place it in the window. The Sabath meal is when all the family get together, they divide the bread and put salt on i and may either say or sing their prayers. wine or grape juice is often served as part of the ceremony. It is a happy occasion when even non jewish guests are invited to share the meal with them.

Hi Prozak,
Shabbat (Hebrew: ש×ת, shabbÄt, "rest"; Shabbos in Ashkenazic pronunciation), is the weekly day of rest in Judaism. It is observed, from before sundown on Friday until after nightfall on Saturday, by many Jewish people with varying degrees of involvement in Judaism
The link below will give you a good idea of observance, mandatory activities and prohibited activities. Most of it would apply to religious or observant jews.

Eat and pray / pray and eat.
There are several acts of "work" which are prohibited on the Sabbath, such as not making a fire (electricity), not carrying outdoors, etc. These derive from what was permitted / non permitted during the building of Tabernacle.

they don't do anywork, not even cooking, it's just made to be a day where they contemplate god and pray. Some Jewish people hire non-Jewish people to do their domestic work for them (cooking, cleaning, pre-ripping their toilet paper) on the Sabbath so they can concentrate on God.
