if u bought the dye @ a drugstore, it is never permanent. i know ppl who dye it as soon as the next day, but i'd wait a week or 2. also, if u dyed ur hair a darker color, and now u want to go lighter, ur going to get red in ur hair, there is no way around it. word of STRONG advice, do not get anything with "ash" in the name of the color, ur hair will turn green

You can do it in about 2 weeks if your hair is healthy if your hair is damaged at all you should wait at least a month. My hair is really strong and healthy I can bleach my hair and then dye it and dye it another color the next day and my hair is still really healthy and strong. It might have to do with your genes because my mom can put a relaxer on her hair on friday night and wash it out on monday then dye it the same day and her hair would still be healthy and strong

Most hair dyes say right on the box to wait three days to a week..but most hair dresser will tell you to get the first color stripped out, then dye using a qualified hair dresser of course.

After 3-5 months...give the color you have now some time to grow out, so that you don't ruin your hair.

There is a toll free telephone number on the instruction sheet, maybe a web site, contact the color manufacturer and ask them, or go to a professional salon.

you should wait a while for your hair to recover(make sure to use conditoner) the problem with dying your hair another color is that it quickly fades and the other color will come through

It's usually best to wait 3 weeks, especially if you're going slightly lighter. A week should be OK if you're going darker. You just don't want to get carried away and overprocess your hair. ;-)
