Just talk to him. Play cards, board games. Ask him for advice about your problems and let him tell you stories about his life.

Talking, i raised my great grandmother untill she was 98yrs old.. and then her daughter my grandmother untill 88yrs old... the best thing is to listen to all there life storys.. Read them books thay like.. not what you like but books in his house.. or that he has.. watch tv with him and make chees and crackers snacks with salami.. you can take him to do simple things in the yard like watering the plants or at the store letting him pick out his own plants and take them home, you can do puzzles together, look at car books and bike books..
there are senior places so he can go make friends.. or envite his friends over.. or old people and have a lunch or dinner so he will feel more comfortabul..
well, love ya all mama giggles

Letting him sit home is not good.
Many times just a car ride to a local
Sonic, Wal Mart, even a park helps.
Just going outdoors is a big plus..
Older people like the sounds of nature.
Get him a bird feeder.and plenty of seeds.
No joke.
Some of us just need something to keep
our mind occupied.

Listen, Listen,Listen to him. People of that age often feel unneeded and thus useless to society. If someone actually takes time to listen to them, then at least for a moment they feel as if they or their experiences that they share have some value. And truly they do. If you listen to some of their stories, it can be very interesting.

Oh the stories he can tell you! I love talking to older folks, they have lived life and have many stories. You can learn alot about your family. Someday you will want to be able to tell your grandkids about their ancestors, and you will be able to have alot of familyhistory to pass on.
