I'm so sorry, I understand what you're going through. My last dog died due to lymphoma that they believe started with cancer in the liver.

Sounds like you're doing everything right. I know you want to keep the carbs down to a minimum. There are a number of sites and support sites you can reference that have a lot of information regarding canine cancer.

Diet plays a role, as do prednesone (sp?) and a few other things. I can tell you for sure that the treatments are expensive.

My heart goes out to you. Below are some of the webpages I used when he's sick. They have links to other sites as well.

My only suggestion is to get her put down. I'm sorry. But just 2 days ago I had to get my cat of 19 years put down because of LIVER FAILURE. She starved herself for about 4 days until she could barely walk. It was hearbreaking to see my cat suffer so much. The vet said that they could do nothing but TRY to keep her alive but it would not be worth it cause it's a painful process. So do the humane thing for your pet & send her to heaven & don't let her go on like this anymore. Good luck with everything & may god bless you & your dog.

I just found out mine has lung cancer. Honestly, I haven't done any of those things. I have been making a real effort to let her know how important she is to me.
The hardest thing for me will be knowing when it is the right time to let her go. I want her to enjoy all the good days she has left but be strong enough to let her go before she suffers.
It sounds to me like you're having trouble coming to terms with her imminent death. I wish you both well. It's not an easy place to be.

Liver cancer is a bad one in people and dogs. Control the pain. And know when it is time to let go. Be a friend, don't let her suffer.

The only thing you can really do, is make the rest of her life, however long or short it ends up being, as comfortable as possible.

That's too bad. Do they ever use organs from other dogs to save a dog - you should check that out.

you didn't list any treatments that a vet would do......have you done traditional medicine too??
all you can do, is try to make her comfortable. I'm so sorry that you have to see her go through this! poor thing! *hugs puppy*

Does that mean you have taken her to a vet also?If so and there is nothing that can be done, just keep her comfortable,
relativly painfree and as happy as she can be.

The best thing to do for your dog is to euthanize her when the pain gets too bad. It is the most HUMANE thing to do.

I'm not familiar with that in dogs. BUT if your dog is suffering put her down. Don't let or make her suffer.
