My 1 year old fixed male cat licks me so much when he kneads that my shirt get soaked if I don't move him away. I understand the kneading part, someitmes with or without the claws, but the licking I don't understand. he will jump on anyone who is on the couch and just starts the whole process. Is the licking the next step in "getting the milk out?" No one else's cat does this part.

The Kneading is a natrual expression for just about all cats. It is going back to how they get milk from the mummy at feeding cases. My cat does it in my armpit ! even as im mendacity in mattress. there's a reason behind the expression scaredy cat, as hostile to scaredy dogs, its because maximum cats do take fright genuinely. if you're worried about it, you would possibly want to attempt giving him his personal area/room contained in the domicile and forbid the different cats from going there. you would possibly want to look to the position he runs too, to grant an illustration of the position he feels maximum possibility-free. notwithstanding it may help extra in case you would possibly want to assert what issues scare him the most. Do you imagine the different cats per chance bullying even as your no longer round? At 2 years of age I wouldnt placed too a lot problem into it, yet there are great books by Vicky Halls that could grant you with a extra efficient inspect whats occurring in his head.

Kneading is something a kitten does to its mother to get more milk, it licks you becuase thats how a ccat cleans, in other words, your cat loves you and is giving you a bath.

My last siamese and my current siamese insists on cleaning me. Just a very high showing of effection towards you. My current siamese gets on my towel shelf and puts her paws on my back and licks my hair when I get out of the shower.

Take it in stride and realize this animal as put you at the top of its list.

Sometimes lightly blowing in their face when licking can make them not do it as often.

It sounds like lil kitty was taken from momma before he was completely weaned... Yea he's getting the oral fixation of suckling. Awh how sweet. Your lucky he hasn't found your earlobes!

It's a comforting thing...like a kid sucking it's thumb and such.

I had a cat that done this. He hasn't gotten over the weening process. It was a habit he never got over.
